Taking part in it were officials, teachers, researchers, technicians, post-graduate students, under-graduate students and members of three-revolution teams from tens of units, including Kim Chaek University of Technology, Phyongsong University of Coal Mining, the Academy of Coal Mining Science under the Ministry of Coal Industry and the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex.

Presented were more than 160 valuable papers conducive to increasing the coal production and propping up soft coal mines with the adoption of advanced mining methods and machines.

Discussed at the symposium were practical matters for raising the tunneling speed with the introduction of reasonable blasting methods and drilling hardware.
