Going round farms in Anju City and Sukchon and Mundok counties of South Phyongan Province and Pakchon County of North Phyongan Province, the premier gave a pep talk to the agricultural workers striving to successfully conclude this year's farming in hearty response to the decisions of the 10th Meeting of the Political Bureau of the 8th Party Central Committee.

He learned in detail about this year's grain production and the immediate threshing and urged the officials to scrupulously direct all the farming work step by step with redoubled efforts and high sense of responsibility at the important time of concluding a year's farming.

At the Jongju Chicken Institute under the Academy of Poultry, he underlined the need to keep in mind the Party's noble intention to supply the people with greater amount of tasty and nutritious meat and eggs, to set and carry out a realistic stepwise goal of breeding chicken in line with the trend of the development of poultry farming, and to direct efforts to raising various breeds.

At some food supply stations and grain sales stations in South Phyongan Province, he called for steadily improving the supply of food and the sale of grain in keeping with the requirements of the state policy on grain.

Field consultative meetings were held to discuss the future tasks and take relevant steps. They included the tasks for stepping up the threshing in a qualitative way in time by mobilizing manpower and means in a rational way and making preparations for next year's farming in a substantial way, intensifying the research into a better system of raising pure breeds in poultry and making the most of the successes made in the food administration and spreading good experience.
