Watching the contest were Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Pak Chol Ho, vice-chairman of the South Phyongan Provincial People's Committee, officials concerned and orphans.

More than 300 children from orphans' schools across the country competed in basketball, volleyball, high jump, long jump and other sporting events.

They played fair games, fully displaying the sports techniques they trained after school.

In the total standings, Kangwon Province came first while South Phyongan Province finished runner-up, followed by Pyongyang City.
