The members of the youth shock brigades tapped internal reserves and ensured full operation of tunneling equipment though everything was in short supply, to honor two-year tunneling plans by the founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Many units joined the list of those who completed yearly plans amid the campaign of overtaking and learning from others and swapping experiences.
