Various indices of the oxygen heat blast furnace were fixed through the collective efforts of scientists and technicians from the State Academy of Sciences, the Steel Designing Institute of the Ministry of Metal Industry, Chongjin University of Mining and Metallurgy and other units dispatched to the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and field technicians and skilled workers. Their dedicated push resulted in the design for remodeling the oxygen heat blast furnace, which envisages 1.3 times daily production surge.

Another achievement is a comprehensive integrated power management system established at the Orangchon Power Station. The local production of various hydraulic elements has made the high-voltage, digitalized operation of speed regulator possible. The exclusive communication network built offers a scientific and technological guarantee for the remote control of all cascaded power stations from the integrated control room of the power station.

Scientists and technicians of various units, dispatched to the Pyongyang Mushroom Farm, completed the sterilization method necessary for industrializing the production of agaric mushroom through rice straw fermentation and remarkably raised the rate of success in culture and the yield per unit of raw material. They established a technology of cultivating various species of mushrooms by using waste substrate and manufactured various kinds of machines and equipment to mechanize raw material processing and sowing processes.

Members of the shock brigade active at the Ryongnam Dockyard completed technical preparations for establishing the production processes for different projects and for manufacturing machinery and equipment so as to turn the dockyard into a modern shipbuilding base.
