South Hamgyong and Jagang provinces mapped out scientific and realistic plans for afforestation and carried on scrupulous organization and guidance to plant trees in the areas covering tens of thousands of hectares.

North Hwanghae Province has directed big efforts to strengthening the material and technical foundations for putting the sapling production on a scientific, industrial and intensive basis, while planting and tending trees in a scientific and technological way. The provincial tree nursery turned out saplings necessary for autumn tree planting and Thosan and Singye counties carried out the work to prop up the trees with sticks and exterminate harmful insects.

Kangwon Province has raised the rooting rate by using root growth promoter.

North and South Phyongan and other provinces, too, have pushed ahead with the work for creating and protecting forests while waging a collective emulation drive like the socialist patriotic afforestation movement and the movement for winning the title of Model County in Afforestation.
