A lot of people visit the theatre every day to see the performance bringing to light the brutal nature of the Japanese imperialists and vividly depicting the truth of the revolution that the only way for the people to live is to rise up in the struggle with arms in their hands.

In the period of bringing about a radical turn in the opera creation, Chairman Kim Jong Il entrusted the artistes of South Hamgyong Province with the honorable task to adapt the revolutionary drama "The Fate of a Self-defence Corps Man" to a revolutionary opera, and indicated detailed tasks and ways for creating the opera.

Created under the leadership of the Party, the revolutionary opera is giving full play to its vitality century after century, redoubling the enthusiasm of all the people for the revolution and struggle in the general advance for a new victory of revolution.

More than 1,110 rounds of performance have been given since the premiere 48 years ago.
