The Pukchang Thermal Power Complex laid a scientific basis for the domestic production of parts of a feed pump in cooperation with scientists of the State Academy of Sciences. It also manufactured and applied a profitable packing to a turbine, thus making it possible to boost the output of every electric generator.

Pyongyang, East Pyongyang and Sunchon thermal power plants introduced the water technologies of practical significance, developed by a scientific research institute, to increase the thermal effect of boilers and save a lot of materials.

The Chongchongang Thermal Power Plant developed a new technology of using make-up water and introduced technical innovations for considerably raising the output of generator, thus contributing to the normal production of electricity.

Similar successes were made at other power plants and stations across the country.
