The Central Committee of the UAWK concentrated its organizational and political work on making sure that all its organizations conduct brisk mass movements for carrying out the main tasks of the immediate strategy for rural development set forth by the Party.

They have raised more than 659,460 rabbits through a union-wide rabbit breeding campaign, carried out river improvement in over 7,300 kilometers-long sections, cleaned waterways in 21,800 kilometers-long sections, conducted anti-land-sliding projects at more than 1,300 places, and planted over 2 million trees, thus face-lifting rural villages.
