The theatre located at the picturesque seashore has a 5, 000-seat auditorium, a stage, a dressing room, illuminators, etc. Its construction provided another base for extracurricular education and cultural and emotional life for schoolchildren and working people in North Hamgyong Province.

An inaugural ceremony of the theatre took place on the spot on Nov. 18.

Present there were Han Yong Song, secretary of the North Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, builders and youths in Chongjin City.
