Reinforcement of Electricity Systems underway in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- The North Phyongan Provincial Power Distribution Station in the DPRK has directed efforts to the readjustment and reinforcement of the power systems so as to effectively use the produced electricity.

Its technicians and members of the three-revolution team built up a database for an electricity geographic information system that helps minimize power loss and ensure the stability of transmission line management and system operation.

In the course of the work to put the transmission and supply network of different units on an optimum basis, they have secured electricity reserves of more than 1, 000 kW, updated the reactive power compensation equipment and increased the power factor to reduce the loss of electricity in transmission.

They also repaired tens of main transformers to contribute to completing the electricity work at major construction projects in the province.

A natural energy power station has operated solar panels, voltage regulator, switchboard and other equipment as required by standard operating methods and technical regulations and stepped up the work for keeping the newly-installed large-capacity wind-powered generator on a normal operation.
