Samson Rocks, Natural Monument in Mt Kumgang
Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- Standing at the entrance to Manmulsang (myriad-shaped peaks) of Mt Kumgang, a world-famous mountain in the DPRK, is Samson Rocks, surrounded by many beautiful rocks including Kwimyon Rock and Tokson Rock.

Samson Rocks standing about 30 m tall on the left side of the entrance are weathered and eroded from long exposure to nature. They are composed of granite dating back to the Mesozoic age.

They look similar, yet each with unique characteristics. The front one is spear-shaped and the middle one is rather stumpy while the rear one is quite blunt.

Pine-nut trees, maple trees, pines and trees of other species rooted in the crevices of the rocks add to the beautiful scenery.

The natural monument rocks are also of academic significance as they bear traces related to tectonic movement and the formation of the terrain.
