Maebongsan, shining with the heroic feats of the soldiers of the Korean People's Army during the Fatherland Liberation War, is now deeply cherished in the minds of the people as a symbol of the noble love of the Workers' Party of Korea for the people.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory several times to turn it, a small regional factory, into a well-known one leading the footwear industry of the country.

One day in July Juche 103 (2014), he visited the factory and told its officials to name the trademark of shoes produced there "Maebongsan", symbolic of the high spirit and victory of our service personnel and people. And he set forth the task to modernize the factory and made sure a powerful construction force was dispatched to it.

In January 2015 he visited the remodeled factory and stressed the need to wage a dynamic drive to produce more quality and smart shoes.

Visiting the factory again in November, he said that the quality of shoes with the trademark "Maebongsan" should be raised to the highest level in the world, and set forth the task to produce more quality shoes for all seasons to be congenial with taste, aesthetic sense, physical constitution and psychological characteristics of the people.

Later, he visited the factory several times and encouraged its officials and employees to make more attractive shoes favored and appreciated by the people through steady innovations and progress.

Thanks to the meticulous guidance of Kim Jong Un, shoes with the trademark "Maebongsan" are now popular among Koreans.
