Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- A group of youth and students for study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu held a kick-off meeting at the plaza before the statue of Chairman Kim Jong Il in Samjiyon City of the DPRK on Thursday.

Present there were Kang Sin Chang, secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league and members of the expedition group.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to him.

He called upon all the members of the expedition group to dynamically carry on the march of Mt Paektu, singing the song "We Will Go to Mt Paektu", following the footsteps of the great brilliant commander of Mt Paektu who demonstrated the revolutionary spirit of Juche Korea before the world while touring Mt Paektu on his horse.

Then followed speeches.

The expedition group members toured the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, Chongbong Bivouac and Konchang Bivouac to look round the historic relics.
