DPRK Premier Inspects Various Sectors
Pyongyang, December 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected various sectors waging a dynamic struggle to implement the decision of the fourth and fifth plenary meetings of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK.

At the Chongsan Farm in Kangso District of Nampho City, he learned in detail about the performance of tractors produced at the Kumsong Tractor Factory, saying that the officials and workers in the machine-building industry should set higher targets and steadily improve the quality of products and thus make a positive contribution to accelerating the comprehensive mechanization of agriculture.

After acquainting himself with various types of dry-field irrigation equipment at the Muhak Farm in Sinwon County of South Hwanghae Province, he called for securing equipment, materials and water sources in a far-sighted way to cope with unfavorable natural and climatic conditions and reinforcing and perfecting the irrigation system to suit the specific conditions of the relevant areas so as to increase the stability of agricultural production.

Learning in detail about the research work of the Hydraulic Engineering Research Institute under the State Academy of Sciences and the production of custom-built equipment at the Taean Heavy Machine Complex, he called upon the officials, scientists, technicians and workers to make redoubled efforts to develop and manufacture high-performance generating equipment, well aware of the importance of their duty in the economic development of the country.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue for officials to conduct economic operation and command more scrupulously and display their tenacious executive ability based on scientific calculation, the one of actively waging a technical innovation movement by regarding the improvement of product quality as a lifeline, the issue of proactively helping scientists and technicians with their work and ramping up the organic ties and cooperation among relevant units to successfully conclude this year, a critical year for implementing the five-year plan before taking measures.

Meanwhile, the premier learned about preparations for next year's farming and the farming practices of autumn wheat and barley and took necessary measures at the Ryongjin Farm in Kaechon City of South Phyongan Province. He also acquainted himself with the selling and securing of goods and the quality of consumer goods at the Kaechon City Department Store.
