On December 12, Juche 101 (2012) scientists and technicians of the country successfully launched the satellite of practical use 100 percent of our own efforts. This showed the rapidly developing intellectual and economic potential of the country to the world and proved in practice the truth that the DPRK does whatever it is once determined to do.

The successful launch was a special event in human history of space exploration, an event that put the space science and technology of the country on a world level, and a national auspicious event which proved that the people of our country that obtained the position of a space power will reach the high peak of economic power at any cost.

Before the launch of the satellite the imperialists and their vassal forces made a string of coarse rhetoric to hamper it.

But the DPRK, a country regarding the nation's independence as its life and soul, shot the satellite into space with pride and dignity.

The launch of the satellite with our own efforts and technology defying all sorts of sanctions and blockades by the hostile forces would have been unthinkable apart from the careful and energetic leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

The General Secretary issued a final autographic order on the launch and visited the Satellite Control Centre at 9:00, one hour before the launch, and gave courage and pluck to the scientists and technicians. On his order, carrier rocket blasted off with Satellite Kwangmyongsong-3-2 aboard.

That day a decade ago when our country ranked itself among satellite manufacturing and launching countries was a significant day that strikingly showed the world once again the iron faith and will of the General Secretary to further demonstrate the dignity and might of the country as wished by the great leaders as well as the unshakable will of our people to uphold his leadership.

Looking back on the historic event, our people further deepen the iron truth that only victory and glory are in store when we follow his leadership and brave all challenges and difficulties.
