Those at the Hyesan Sleeper Production Company completed the expansion of drying furnace and the remodeling of vibrating compactor and put efforts into the engagement between processes and full operation of equipment, thus increasing the production capacity 1.4 times.

Amid the increase of sleeper production, the trackmen's teams have stepped up the work to ensure the stability of railways and replace the existing rails with heavy ones. They reinforced the ballast of railroads and laid new sleepers to raise the safety of train operation and improved the railway strength by simultaneously pushing ahead with the work to replace tens of thousands of sleepers with new ones and install fittings.

The branch bureau finished the work to replace the defective sleepers with new ones in tens of kilometers-long sections.
