The province built Kim Jong Suk Teachers Training College, the Chongjin Youth Open-Air Theatre, the provincial E-business institute, hundreds of dwelling houses in Yombunjin seaside park area and a riding course in the Chongjin City Pleasure Ground to make a stride forward in the regional development.

The Chongjin Steel Materials Plant further increased its production capacity and output compared with last year and had sent a large amount of iron and steel to construction sites every month.

The Chongam Stone Processing Station found a rich deposit of stone and provided various processing equipment to start production in September.

The Chongjin Slate Factory rationally remodeled the production process of color tiles by giving precedence to science and technology and conducting the brisk work to enhance the creative spirit of technicians and skilled workers. This made it possible to produce more than three times the color tiles while saving much manpower and send them to rural housing construction sites.

Similar successes were witnessed at the Chongjin Wood Processing Factory, the Komusan Cement Factory and other building materials production bases.
