Overall Educational Level Improves
Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- This year the educational sector of the DPRK has made successes in the work to further raise the overall educational level of the country.

The higher education sector focused its efforts on improving the educational structure and constantly bettering the contents, forms and methods of education.

As far as the technical university field is concerned, a big stride has been made in putting the courses of hundreds of subjects on a practical, comprehensive and modern basis so as to raise them to the world's advanced level, completing model teaching programs of each field of science and technology, creating and generalizing various forms of teaching to universities and colleges across the country.

Achievements were also made in the work to reduce the difference in the educational level between the capital and local areas, cities and countryside and perfecting the system for education of gifted children.

Dozens of universities, including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education and University of Sciences, dispatched competent researchers to the colleges in charge and handed over modern experimental equipment and lots of reference materials and data, thus contributing to raising their educational levels.

A huge amount of teaching materials, latest scientific and technological data and excellent educational methods have been disseminated to scores of local universities and hundreds of courses held for teachers so far.

New teaching methods ensuring the close combination of education, scientific research and practice were developed and introduced at many universities amid a hot wind of creating new teaching methods.

The 5th National Seminar on Education Science, the national presentation on educational experience in the field of teachers training colleges, the exhibition of educational media programs in the field of technical universities and other exhibitions and seminars, too, contributed to developing the country's education.

The field of general education actively created a new excellent teaching method based on VR, augmented reality and artificial intelligence technologies and generalized it all over the country.

The work to reduce the difference between urban and rural education levels resulted in raising the teaching qualifications of rural school teachers and the students' scholarly performance to a higher level.
