According to data available, more than 410 units won the title of Model Technical Innovation Unit this year.

As a result, the number of units which won the title has increased to over 2,030 at present since more than 90 units received the title for the first time in January Juche 104 (2015).

The Pyongyang Textile Machine Factory and the Wonsan Disabled Soldiers' Essential Plastic Goods Factory, which won the title of Thrice Model Technical Innovation Unit, and other units associated with the leadership exploits of the Party took the lead in this campaign by turning the technical innovation movement into a movement for the working masses themselves, regarding science and technology as the lifeline for their development.

Among those awardees are nearly 90 units in the key industrial sectors, 60-odd units in the field of light industry and over 190 units in the agricultural field.

The Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea contributed to further strengthening the ranks of model technical innovation units by ensuring the evaluation in direction of making sure that each economic sector and unit bring new innovations and development by firmly holding fast to science and technology.
