Women's Union Organizations Render Aid to Major Economic Fields

Pyongyang, January 6 (KCNA) -- Women's union organizations and members in different parts of the DPRK launched a brisk mass movement to sincerely support various economic sectors from the first day of the new year, true to the decision made at the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. They sent more than 90,000 tons of organic manure and many farm tools to the agricultural sector. Women's union members in South Hamgyong Province secured more than 10,000 tons of manure and sent it to farms in the province. Those in Taean District of Nampho City and Myonggan and Musan counties of North Hamgyong Province sent daily necessities to farmers in the respective areas. Women's union officials and members in North Hwanghae Province and Nampho City conducted energetic agitprop activities for increased production at production sites of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and the Chollima Steel Complex and handed over sincerely prepared aid materials. Those in Pyongyang City visited the Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant and the East Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant to encourage the power producers through their art squad activities. And women's union members in Thosan County of North Hwanghae Province sent a lot of tools and labor protection materials to the Ryesonggang Power Station. Members of the South Phyongan provincial women's union committee made contribution to the production at coal mines of the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex, doing good deeds such as transport of muck and spilt coal. |
