Education Improved in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 18 (KCNA) -- In order to thoroughly carry out the tasks set forth at the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the education sector of the DPRK is pushing ahead with the work to improve the structure, contents, and methods of education.

The Pedagogical Institute has carried on the research to help write books on the theory of structure of higher and general education and correctly define types of talents.

It also directs efforts to the research for developing the taxonomy of educational objectives and introducing examination methods according to subjects.

Meanwhile, several faculties of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, University of Sciences and others leading universities have prepared to improve the teaching work administration system from the new school year.

In particular, Kim Chaek University of Technology strives to improve the educational structure so as to train more distinguished talents by completing the talent-training system while drawing up curriculums in line with the improvement of the teaching work administration system.

The same is true of Pyongyang University of Architecture, Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering and other major universities.
