Iron and Steel Production Increased in DPRK
|Pyongyang, January 19 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex in the DPRK are striving to attain the goal of steel production, keeping in mind the main tasks of this year's economic work set forth at the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Smelters and technicians of the oxygen heat blast furnace workshop are increasing the production of molten iron per charge by actively applying advanced melting method and rational furnace operation method, and the units which supply raw materials and fuel are increasing the operating rate of carrier equipment.
Workers and technicians of the oxygen separator branch factory have increased the oxygen production while introducing rational technical innovation proposals and ensuring close interaction between processes.
The workers of the Steel Workshop No. 2 are keeping the oxygen converter and strand-casting machine in full-capacity operation on the basis of the existing production foundation, thus increasing the production of steel ingot per shift.
