Efforts for Putting Chemical Industry on Juche Basis

Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- The chemical industrial sector of the DPRK has oriented planning and guidance towards putting this year's production on a normal track and perfecting a new structure of the Juche-based chemical industry, true to the decisions of the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Officials of the Ministry of Chemical Industry are intensifying the guidance to ensure that efforts are concentrated on the technological innovation for overhauling and maintaining production processes and keeping production going at a high rate.

Chemical industrial establishments strive to supply enough fiber, plastics and different kinds of basic chemical products by fulfilling their plans on all indices.

The construction of methanol production process is being accelerated as part of the project for establishing C-1 chemical industry.

Work is going on to consolidate the material and technical foundation of scientific research bases and bring the research work close to production field.
