Many Flowers Cultivated in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- The floricultural institute and production units in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, are growing various flowering plants in spite of the winter conditions, true to the intention of the Party to provide the people with happier life and new culture.

Officials and employees of the Pyongyang Floriculture Institute dedicate themselves to the research into new flowering plants.

Employees at the floricultural stations in Pothonggang and Moranbong districts have raised more than ten species of flowers, including Viola tricolor and Primula x polyantha cv. Hyosonghwa.

Floricultural stations in other districts, too, are striving to grow many flowering plants while making preparations to transplant them on streets without regard to seasonal conditions.
