Sci-Tech Activities Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 24 (KCNA) -- Members of the February 17 Shock Brigade of Scientists and Technicians in the DPRK are dynamically conducting the scientific and technological activities in different parts of the country.

The shock brigade members have turned out with firm determination to make a greater stride in strengthening the Juche character and independence of the key industrial sectors including metal and chemical industries.

Those active at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex are busy with the work to carry out the research task for ensuring the construction of energy-saving oxygen heat blast furnace in a sci-tech way.

Those of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry have registered high results since the beginning of their research work to protect the electric power supply system from disastrous meteorological phenomena.

Those active in the vehicle industry guidance bureau under the Ministry of Machine-building Industry set 10-odd research goals conducive to improving the quality of machines and are pushing ahead with them in real earnest.

The shock brigade members active in the Tanchon Power Station Construction Division solved several sci-tech problems arising in the construction of the power station and are now working hard to find ways for raising the processing speed and quality of turbine blades.

Members of shock brigades dispatched to different units of the national economy are striving to ensure innovation, progress and perfection in the work to fulfill their tasks, pooling their creative wisdom and enthusiasm with field technicians.
