Campaign of Collecting Idle Materials Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- Women's union organizations at all levels in the DPRK have turned out in a campaign for collecting idle materials, true to the decisions of the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea on actively conducting the socialist patriotic movement, the revolutionary mass movement. Officials and members of the South Hamgyong provincial women's union committee secured more than 600 tons of scrap iron and sent them to the Hamhung Steel Works and other metal factories in the province. Women's union organizations in Songrim City of North Hwanghae Province, Chollima District of Nampho City and other areas went to such metal factories as the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and the Chollima Steel Complex with a large amount of scrap iron and aid materials to stimulate the workers' enthusiasm for production. Officials of the Kwaksan county women's union committee in North Phyongan Province set an example in preparing containers to keep idle materials, while urging all the primary organizations to establish a well-regulated system of procuring idle materials. Waste paper, vinyl, rubber and others collected by women's union members in Munchon City and Kimhwa, Kosan and Ichon counties of Kangwon Province are used effectively as raw materials for various consumer goods at regional industrial factories. The women's union officials and members in Pyongyang City, too, turned out in the campaign for collecting idle materials. |
