Innovative Struggle in Hydro-power Sector of DPRK
Pyongyang, February 1 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in the field of hydroelectric power generation of the DPRK are focusing efforts on the work to put water control on a scientific basis and raise the efficiency of power generation, true to the decisions of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Official of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and other relevant sectors worked out stepwise plans for raising the generating capacity while meeting the demand for electric power in a stable way, and took timely measures for technical and material supply.

The workers of the Suphung Power Station are directing efforts to the development of a digital controller to be introduced into the generator, while stepping up the project to manufacture an efficient water turbine in close cooperation with relevant units.

Those of the Pujongang Power Station created and introduced technical innovations for increasing the efficiency of water turbines and pushed ahead with the readjustment and reinforcement of equipment in a planned way to raise the operation rate of generators.

Such progress is made at other power stations across the country, too.
