Officials of the Central Committee and the provincial, city and county committees of the GFTUK attended the meeting as observers.

The enlarged plenary meeting discussed the issue of thoroughly implementing the decisions of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and other issues.

Pak In Chol, chairman of the GFTUK Central Committee, made a report.

The reporter said that the decisions of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK serve as an action program indicating the path for a new rapid development of Korean-style socialism and an inspiring banner instilling full confidence in victory into all the people.

He analyzed and reviewed in detail the successes, experience, deviation and lessons in the GFTUK work in 2022 for implementing the decisions of the 8th WPK Congress, and referred to the ways for improving the trade union work this significant year to give full play to the mental power of the heroic working class and thus contribute to opening up a new phase of the development of the state.

He called for vigorously conducting the socialist patriotic movement, the revolutionary mass movement to make the the working-class patriotic enthusiasm prevail the whole country and for further boosting the enthusiasm for revolution and struggle of the masses out in this year's socialist emulation drive for the fulfillment of the five-year plan to contribute to attaining the 12 major goals for national economic development.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

The meeting adopted a relevant resolution on the basis of study of its draft.
