Equipment Updated in DPRK

Pyongyang, February 3 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex in the DPRK have turned out in the struggle to attain the steel production goal for this year, true to the decisions of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Amid the high enthusiasm of working masses, updating and repair of equipment are promoted with current production.

Workers and technicians are pushing ahead with the readjustment and repair of such equipment as continuous casting machine and hydraulic pump through socialist emulation among workshops and work-teams.

They have over-fulfilled their daily plans by shortening the melting time at UHP electric arc furnace and operating the oxygen heat blast furnace on a sci-tech basis.

Meanwhile, checking and repair of all sorts of equipment are carried on a regular basis.
