Commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence including Kang Sun Nam, Pak Su Il and Jong Kyong Thaek and general officers of the KPA including the commanders of the large combined units visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, on Thursday, on the occasion of the Day of Army Founding.

The sacred temple of Juche was filled with boundless reverence for President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, who achieved the cause of building regular armed forces with their unique military idea of self-defence and outstanding commanding art and developed the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK into the army of the Party and the people and thus provided a solid pillar of an independent power.

The KPA general officers solemnly entered the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun with the great pride and honor of having held the military parade for celebrating the Day of Army Founding as a grand political and military festival to be specially recorded in the history of building the revolutionary armed forces and as a display of the greatest national power which demonstrated the irresistible might of Juche Korea to the whole world.

A floral basket in the name of the KPA was laid before the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The participants paid high tribute to the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in reflection of the unanimous mind of all the service personnel of the armed forces of the DPRK.

At the immortality halls where Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il lie in state, the participants made deep bows to them in the humblest reverence.

The participants pledged their loyalty to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il to uphold the mightiness and invincibility of our state in the van of the revolution at all times by redoubling the faith of devotedly defending the Party Central Committee, indomitable fighting spirit and will of the do-or-die resistance fully displayed at the military parade for celebrating the Day of Army Founding.

The commanding officers of the KPA made a firm pledge to uphold the idea and leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the symbol of the dignity and mightiness of our Party and state, ever-victorious banner and destiny of socialist Korea, and to fully demonstrate the tremendous might and heroic spirit of the armed forces of the Workers' Party of Korea and the a-match-for-a-hundred revolutionary powerful army in the sacred struggle for the eternal prosperity of the country and the wellbeing of the people.
