Attending the competition held on the occasion of the greatest auspicious holiday of the nation were cooks and waiters and waitresses selected among ministries, national institutions and units in the field of public catering and external service in Pyongyang City and officials.

There took place a cooking and beverage-making competition, exhibition of dishes peculiar to relevant units and demonstration of excellent cooks.

Cooks and waiters and waitresses from Ryugyong Restaurant, Changgwang General Restaurant, Chilsong Restaurant, Pothonggang Hotel, Taedonggang District Restaurants Management Office and others presented to the competition dishes and beverages good for health and easy to make at families.

The dishes presented by Unjong Teahouse, Chongryu Restaurant and others drew the attention of the participants and visitors as they are nutritious and tasty.

The demonstration of the excellent cooks selected among several units including Okryu Restaurant, Pyongyang Koryo Hotel and Taesong District Restaurants Managing Office gave deep impression to the visitors.

Present at the closing ceremony held on February 14 were Ri Song Hak, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Ri Yong Min, director of the Guidance Bureau of Public Catering Service, officials concerned, cooks and waiters and waitresses.

Meanwhile, similar competitions took place at famous restaurants in every province.
