Efforts Paid to Strengthening Production Bases at Chemical Industrial Sector

Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- The chemical industrial sector of the DPRK has put spurs to the strengthening of the production foundation, true to the decisions of the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to set this year as a year of attaining the key goals in boosting production and accomplishing the readjustment and reinforcement strategy.

Officials of the Ministry of Chemical Industry took scientific and practical measures necessary for expanding the production capacity of major chemical industrial bases and are pushing ahead with the work to carry them out.

The Namhung Youth Chemical Complex is stepping up the work for locally producing additives in cooperation with relevant unit.

The complex is directing efforts to increasing the efficiency of the cleaning process by increasing the content of additives while strengthening its technical forces.

The officials and workers of the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex are pushing ahead with the project for expanding the capacity of coal deposit with the goal of strengthening the production base by their own efforts and technology.

The February 8 Vinalon Complex completed the overhaul of the carbide electric furnace while supplying firebricks by itself, thus providing a guarantee for increasing the production of various basic chemical products.
