Kim Jong Il. The Korean people and service personnel cherish it as their faith.

Kim Jong Il who initiated the comprehensive and systematic study of the revolutionary history of President Kim Il Sung in his teens and formed the group for studying the short biography of General Kim Il Sung. In Juche 45 (1956), he organized and conducted the first study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu.

During his revolutionary activities at Kim Il Sung University, he led the students to deeply grasped the greatness of the President and learn from the noble revolutionary spirit of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners by intensifying the study of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas.

He repeatedly visited several revolutionary battle sites and revolutionary sites including those in the area of Mt Paektu and energetically guided the work for building revolutionary battle sites, revolutionary sites and grand monuments.

He put forward the revolutionary slogan "Let us produce, study and live like the anti-Japanese guerrillas!" so that the Party members and other working people cherish the revolutionary spirit of Paektu as the eternal spirit of Korea and their ideological and spiritual pillar, firmly defend the revolutionary traditions of Juche and wage a dynamic struggle to apply them to all fields of socialist construction.

Even in the grim 1990s, he paid deep attention to more thoroughly arming the officials, working people and service personnel with the revolutionary tradition of the Workers' Party of Korea with his firm will to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The tireless efforts of Kim Jong Il who devoted himself to reliably carrying forward the revolutionary tradition of Mt. Paektu created by the President in the flames of the anti-Japanese war had continued after the demise of the President.

He set it as the general goal of the Korean People's Army to turn the whole army into the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment and ensured that the flame of the movement was kindled. He made sure that the units of the People's Army newly build the rooms for the education in the revolutionary history and rooms devoted to their history and that education was intensified through them.

Going round the battle sites on Mt Paektu in March, 2000, he clearly indicated the tasks and ways for further sprucing up the bases for education in the revolutionary tradition and intensifying the education through them.

Visiting Samjiyon City in May, 2010, he said that it was the firm will and determination of our Party to defend and carry forward the revolutionary tradition created by the President during the protracted anti-Japanese armed struggle and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche on the basis of the great tradition to the end.

Kim Jong Il, who regarded the revolutionary tradition of Mt Paektu as the eternal lifeline of the Korean revolution and devoted his whole life to glorifying the tradition forever, is a staunch defender and the most faithful successor to the revolutionary tradition of Mt Paektu.
