Officials of the Central Standing Committee and central organizations of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) laid floral baskets before the portrait of smiling Chairman Kim Jong Il on February 15.

A meeting of Koreans in Japan took place at the Central Hall of Chongryon in Tokyo on February 15 to celebrate the 81st birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il.

Present there were Chairman Ho Jong Man, First Vice-Chairman and Director of the Organizational Department Pak Ku Ho, Vice-Chairman Nam Sung U, Vice-Chairman and Director of the General Affairs Department Pae Jin Gu, Vice-Chairman Jo Il Yon, Vice-Chairman and Director of the Education Department Song Kun Hak and Vice-Chairman and Director of the Department for International Affairs and Reunification So Chung On of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan, Ri Myong Yu, chairman of the Chongryon Central Audit Committee, members and advisors of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, the director of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan and chairpersons of headquarters of Chongryon.

Pak Ku Ho made a report at the meeting.

The reporter said that, on the occasion of the significant Day of the Shining Star, all the officials of Chongryon and other Koreans in Japan recollect with warm feelings the immortal feats and efforts of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il who devoted all his noble life to the country as well as his loving care and solicitude for Chongryon and compatriots in Japan.

He noted that the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un is defending Chongryon, a patriotic legacy of the great leaders, and the Korean residents in Japan while leading the movement of Japan-resident Koreans in the new century to victory.

He ardently called for more vigorously conducting the patriotic movement, closely rallied as one in mind, under the guidance of Kim Jong Un this year of great turn and changes.

Meanwhile, officials of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and Koreans in Japan watched a video of the New Year 2023 celebration art performance by Korean schoolchildren in Japan on February 15.
