Scientific Farming Encouraged at Farms in Kaesong City
Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- Agricultural officials and workers in Kaesong City of the DPRK strive to ensure the cultivation of wheat and barley in a sci-tech way in an effort to attain the grain production goal for this year set forth by the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The Songdo Vegetable Farm and the Tokam Farm in the city have paid attention to improving the ability of their technical personnel while doing various kinds of farm work on the basis of scientific survey data on the growth of wheat and barley.

Muksan, Konam and Yongang farms in Kaephung District of the city are carrying on the soil humidity adjustment and nutritive tissue in line with the sci-tech requirements.

Big efforts are concentrated on raising the regeneration rate of wheat and barley after winter to maximize their per-hectare yields.

The officials and workers have also directed efforts to securing organic fertilizer and perfecting the irrigation system, while taking technical measures to improve the nutritive conditions of wheat and barley.
