Measures Taken for Improving Work of Schools for Orphans at All Levels
Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- The educational sector of the DPRK directs efforts to strengthening the work of schools for orphans at all levels to carry out the tasks set forth at the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The Education Commission worked out a detailed plan for intensifying the guidance and assistance to various units in the field of schools for orphans with the main emphasis put on raising the level of education this year.

Under this plan, work is going on to help Pyongyang Orphanage, Wonsan Orphanage, Pyongyang Primary School for Orphans, Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans, Wonsan Middle School for Orphans and Hyesan Middle School for Orphans, which are associated with the leadership exploits of the Party.

Educators at various orphanages and primary and middle schools for orphans have pushed ahead with the work to create and introduce teaching methods conducive to raising the level of education, under the guidance and assistance of the commission.

Universities in Pyongyang City are stepping up the design and manufacture of teaching aids to be sent to Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans.

All provinces have promoted various work for improving the educational conditions and environment of orphanages and primary and middle schools for orphans in their regions.
