The Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) has conducted the organizational work for ideological education in a substantial way.

Trade union organizations in the key industrial sectors concentrate their ideological work on making the struggle for attaining the 12 goals for national economic development, set forth at the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), lead to substantial successes.

Those of the Ryongsong Machine Complex and the Taean Heavy Machine Complex have conducted various forms of ideological work to encourage the workers and union members to carry forward the traditions of loyalty and patriotism and the noble spiritual baton of self-reliance displayed by the preceding generations.

Similar ideological work is being conducted at the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex, the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex and other industrial establishments.
