Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- In February, a large number of officials, working people, servicepersons, youth and students from more than 120 units toured the revolutionary battle sites and revolutionary sites in the area of Mt Paektu. The visitors laid floral baskets and flowers before the mosaic mural depicting the peerlessly great persons in the Sobaeksu Valley, where Chairman Kim Jong Il was born as the Shining Star of Paektu, and paid tribute to them. At the birthplace of Kim Jong Il in the Paektusan Secret Camp, they solemnly recollected the revolutionary career of Kim Jong Il who was born as the son of guerrillas and grew up, hearing the sound of gunfire as a lullaby during the anti-Japanese war. The visitors went round the headquarters log cabin where the red flag of the revolution fluttered, deeply grasping the exploits of President Kim Il Sung who achieved the historic cause of national liberation. Following the noble footsteps of the anti-Japanese forerunners, they visited the Chongbong and Konchang bivouacs, the Samjiyon Grand Monument, the Monument to the Victorious Battle in Musan Area and other revolutionary sites. The trees bearing slogans, preserved in their origin in the thick forests, and the revolutionary relics including weapons repair shop and sewing shop reminded the visitors of the mental world of the first generation of the revolution who waged the do-or-die resistance against imperialism in the transparent spirit of independence and self-reliance. All the study tour groups climbed up Mt Paektu, the sacred mountain of revolution, recollecting the glorious history of the anti-Japanese revolution recorded as the first page in the history of the Korean revolution. The shouts of visitors, raised on the top of it, resounded through the snow-covered mountain ranges. During the study tour, they held meetings to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas, question-and-answer study contests and others. |
