Study Tour of Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt Paektu

Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- Officials in the field of the preservation of revolutionary relics from across the country made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from Feb. 23 to 28. They held a kick-off meeting in the plaza before the statue of President Kim Il Sung standing at the Samjiyon Grand Monument on Feb. 23 and started their march, full of will to raise a strong wind of education in the revolutionary traditions in the general advance of this year. They toured Chongbong and Konchang bivouacs and entered the historic Sobaeksu Valley where Chairman Kim Jong Il was born as the Shining Star of Mt Paektu. They laid bouquets before the mosaic depicting the peerlessly great persons and paid tribute to them. At the birthplace of Kim Jong Il in the Paektusan Secret Camp, they looked round historic relics associated with his noble revolutionary career. They continued their march towards the Mudubong Secret Camp, Mupho Bivouac, Sinsadong Revolutionary Battle Site, etc. to realize the fortitude, fighting spirit and revolutionary spirit of the anti-Japanese fighters. After taking part in the study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu, following the historic horseback march made by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, they held an oath-taking meeting in the plaza before the statue of Kim Jong Il in Samjiyon City on Feb. 28. They expressed their determination to become the first personifier and powerful disseminator and educator of the revolutionary traditions who firmly equip all the Party members and other working people with the spirit of guerrillas. During the study tour, they conducted diverse political and cultural activities, including a meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas, a contest of singing revolutionary songs in chorus while marching in array and a question-and-answer study contest. They also firmly prepared themselves as frontline soldiers and guardsmen in the field of ideological education through a practical course related to the field of revolutionary relics. |
