Irrigation System Readjusted and Reinforced in South Hwanghae Province

| Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK is taking measures to readjust and reinforce the existing irrigation facilities and increase the areas under irrigation, true to the resolutions of the Seventh Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Attention is being paid to fully supplying water for irrigation. Steps are being taken to readjust large- and medium-size irrigation waterways of thousands of kilometers and newly build and repair dry field irrigation facilities and underground water facilities in the shortest time. The province is supplementing pumping equipment and accelerating the installation of irrigation structures. It is also taking measures to perfect the irrigation system. Relevant factories are producing water pumps to contribute to consolidating the material and technological foundation for irrigation. |
