The Wonsan City People’s Committee worked out a plan to remove 30,000 cubic meters of river bed in a short span of time and formed a guidance group with competent officials.

2,000 cubic meters of river bed was removed in less than a week after the start of dredging project early in February. And dredging of nearly 20,000 cubic meters of earth was carried out in tens of small and medium rivers and streams in one month.

The committee has steadily pushed ahead with the dredging project while improving the city management including city beautification and afforestation.
