Fertility of Soil Raised across Farms in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- Agricultural officials and workers in different parts of the DPRK are striving to attain the cereal production goal for this year, true to the resolution of the 7th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Officials and agricultural workers in Jaeryong County of South Hwanghae Province turned out in the work to make all farm fields fertile.

Agricultural workers of the Samjigang Farm were the first to finish the production of self-sufficing manure such as fermented manure and the securing of materials for seedbeds. And the Kim Je Won Farm carried out its plan for spreading fertile soil on farm fields through a collective innovation movement.

Officials, agricultural workers and volunteers in Anju City of South Phyongan Province are stepping up the soil improvement work.

All the officials in the city took the lead in carrying out the plan for production of organic compound fertilizer and the volunteers helped out in soil improvement work by transferring large amounts of mud to farm fields.

Pongsan County of North Hwanghae Province is carrying out work to improve soil. Focusing on ensuring the quality of organic fertilizer, the county set a realistic and scientific plan to improve soil in unfertile fields.
