In Juche 42 (1953) when the Fatherland Liberation War was at its height, the plant started its first step as a small ironware production cooperative. In the course of 70 years of the plant, the historic field guidance of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il marked a turning point in the development of the plant. Encouraged by the noble patriotic will of the peerlessly great men, its workers put the production on a steady increase.

A meeting took place on Thursday to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the plant.

Present there were Jon Hyon Chol, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Jong Nam, minister of Machine-building Industry, officials of South Hamgyong Province and officials and employees of the plant.

Jon Hyon Chol conveyed a congratulatory message of the Central Committee of the WPK to the workers, technicians and officials of the plant.

The Central Committee of the WPK said in the message that the plant is a producer of electric appliances of important significance in socialist construction and the people's living and a prestigious plant which has recorded shining achievements in implementing the Party's policies decade after decade.

The message highly appreciated the workers, technicians and officials of the plant for having contributed to the major construction projects of the state, economic development and improvement of the people's living standard with practical successes in production, out of their intention and will to implement the Party's policies.
