Research for Increased Coal Production Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 10 (KCNA) -- Officials and scientists of the Academy of Coal Mining Science make strenuous efforts to settle urgent problems arising in increasing the coal production.

They have focused efforts on the implementation of their research tasks while holding discussions with scientists of Kim Chaek University of Technology and the State Academy of Sciences.

Meanwhile, they are striving to solve the problems arising in manufacturing various kinds of equipment at coal mines with field technical groups.

Scientists of the coal mine labor protection institute completed the designing of various processes and parts necessary for introducing the gas-drainage technology into the production and provided a technical guarantee for establishing the method of self-ignition prevention.

The Mining Engineering Institute has made efforts to improve the technical performance indices of a new coalface drilling equipment and establish a drilling method under different mining conditions.

The Sunchon Mining Engineering Institute and other research institutes, too, are concentrating their efforts on the settlement of sci-tech problems arising in the field.
