The festival, opened on the theme of "Traction of Science and Technology", is aimed at sharing and generalizing the successes and experience gained by scientists and technicians in the course of conducting creative campaign to implement the resolutions of the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee and thus contributing to the economic development and the improvement of people's living in the capital city.

Present at the festival, held in the forms of presentation, exhibition, forum and exchange of new technologies and products, are officials, technicians, skilled workers and three-revolution team members from more than 330 units in the city.

On display there are more than 850 valuable proposals, over 4,500 exhibits and 5,000-odd high-tech products and patent products.
