DPRK Premier Inspects South Hwanghae Province
Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected various sectors of South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK.

Going round various farms in Chongdan, Yonan and Paechon counties, he gave pep talks to the agricultural workers striving to carry out the resolutions of the Seventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK, true to the intention of the Party to let South Hwanghae Province take the lead in the country's agricultural production.

He stressed the need for the farms to manure and cultivate wheat and barley, earlier crops, in a scientific and technological way and take thorough measures to prevent damage from the cold and humidity on the basis of a detailed survey of their growth, plough paddy and dry fields in a qualitative way in the right season and not to miss the sowing season.

He visited the South Hwanghae Provincial Tideland Reclamation General Enterprise and the Tokdal Mine and called for introducing advanced and rational methods to step up the reclamation of tideland on a full scale and positively pushing ahead with the work for consolidating the material foundation of the fertilizer industry.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of taking all necessary measures for the supply of farming materials and thoroughly meeting the scientific and technological requirements in the production of slow-action granulated fertilizer, the issue for relevant units including ministries and national institutions to produce and supply equipment and materials for irrigation construction in good time and the issue of enhancing the responsibility and role of scientists and technicians in the reclamation of tideland and the establishment of a new fertilizer production process, and took necessary measures.

Earlier, the premier went round the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex to discuss measures for repairing locomotives and passenger and freight cars with a view to satisfying the increasing demand for transport.
