Rodong Sinmun says that March 14, Juche 41 (1952) when President Kim Il Sung called for creating many forests through a mass movement, taking to heart the fact that many forests were burned by the U.S. imperialists' bombing, was an epochal turning point in the tree-planting movement and afforestation in the country.

Our Party has wisely led the tree planting, afforestation, in the whole period of its revolutionary guidance, setting it as an important work for the country's development, happiness of the people and the prosperity of posterity, the paper says and goes on:

Thanks to the wise guidance of the President, who showed scientific guidelines on afforestation in each period and at each stage of the developing revolution and led the struggle for realizing them step by step, significant and precious successes were achieved in the work to turn the country into a people's paradise beautiful to look and good to live in.

Whenever Chairman Kim Jong Il watched thick forests and vast realigned land, he used to say with his affection that they are green mountains and green fields of the country. He had devoted himself to covering the whole country with trees and flowers till the last moments of his life.

Today the tree planting is dynamically conducted as an important work for the prosperity and development of the state and happiness of the people under the wise guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Saying that tree planting is an undertaking to be done by all citizens living on this land, the paper calls upon all the officials, Party members, working people and school youth and children to plant trees with patriotism and conscience as required by the Party's policy on afforestation.

Minju Joson says that tree planting precisely means patriotism, calling on all the people to devote their sincerity to planting trees with patriotism and thus turn the country into a people's paradise and a land of bliss in the era of the Workers' Party.
