The central headquarters for irrigation construction and other guidance groups at all levels have made a detailed study of irrigation facilities across the country and are conducting operations and guidance to restore and perfect them in a short span of time and supply necessary materials and equipment in close contact with relevant sectors and units.

Steps are taken to boost the water-passing capacity, including the construction and repair of waterways, with main stress put on the project to build up the foundations for putting the agricultural production in South Hwanghae Province, the country's main granary, on a track of stable and sustained development.

Taking the lead in the said work are North Hwanghae and South Hamgyong provinces and Pyongyang and Nampho cities.
