North Hamgyong Province dispatched officials in the field of irrigation to cities and counties to inspect the irrigation facilities and take measures for increasing the pumping and drainage capacities in the areas affected by drought and flood.

Projects to reinforce pumping equipment, secure spare parts and ensure the supply of electricity at one hundred and dozens of pumping stations are being pushed ahead with.

Efforts have been paid to consolidating the material and technical foundations of the irrigation equipment accessory factory to step up the production of high-capacity pumps. And the construction of a process capable of producing sprayers, various valves and sprinklers for dry-field irrigation is progressing at the final stage.

The work for readjusting and reinforcing reservoir gates and establishing groundwater facilities is also under way.

On the basis of survey of its irrigation facilities, Nampho City has designed and propelled such project as irrigation of dry fields, cleaning of waterways and construction of irrigation structures.
